December 2024: The Limone hydropower plant was successfully completed.
November 2024: See the current construction progress (status: 14.11.2024). The turbines have been installed.
September 2024: See the current construction progress (as of 07.09.2024). The entire facility is nearing completion.
August 2024: See the current construction progress (status: 01.08.2024). The central purlin of the pump house has been installed.
July 2024: See the current construction progress (as of 17.07.2024). When constructing our water power plants, it is particularly important to us to integrate the buildings into the natural environment as well as possible.
May 2024: The pictures show the progress of the construction work on the pump house, the transfer station, the access road and the current water flow. We are planning to complete the entire plant in summer 2024.

January 2024: Construction of the pump house foundation.
December 2023: A large part of the construction work, including the construction of the power plant building, the laying of pipelines and water intake, is 70% complete. The turbines have already been delivered and are stored on site.
September 2020 - Start of construction of the Limone hydropower plant
Project information
In Limone in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, the Ranft Group has initiated the construction of a new penstock power plant and has already begun implementation. The nominal output of the turbine is 3,400 kW, so that an average annual production of around 6,000,000 kWh can be forecast. In the Francis turbine used here, the water flows into the runner via adjustable guide vanes, allowing the output to be precisely regulated.
The photo on the left shows one of the three turbines for the Limone project, which are already installed at our depot in Ormea. The picture on the right shows the Vermenagna River a few kilometers downstream of the planned small hydropower plant. Even at this low point in the year, the river is carrying a sufficient volume of water.
