A project partner from the very beginning

The Ranft Group is a comprehensive project partner for renewable energy and supports projects throughout the entire value chain—from securing land in the initial stages, through project development and permitting, to implementation, operations management, and optimization.

As an experienced project developer, we focus on developing photovoltaic and battery storage projects in Germany, Italy, and Austria. In addition, our portfolio includes hydropower projects in Italy as well as the technical and commercial management of energy facilities.

By consolidating key expertise in-house and working closely with a long-standing network of specialized partners, we lay the groundwork for the efficient and successful implementation of complex energy projects. Our goal is to develop sustainable energy solutions that combine environmental responsibility with economic efficiency and actively contribute to the energy transition.

History

A Family Business in Transition

The Ranft Group's roots date back to 1996. What began as a regional construction company specializing in residential and social housing has evolved into an internationally active corporate group with a focus on renewable energy.

Since 2007, the Ranft Group has been active in the renewable energy sector and supports projects across the entire value chain—from development and implementation to long-term operation. Today, the group employs approximately 50 people at its locations in Germany, Italy, and Austria.

To date, 107 photovoltaic projects and 12 hydroelectric power plants have been developed, constructed, acquired, or upgraded. The plants generate approximately 217 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually—enough to supply about 72,330 households and reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 78,000 metric tons each year.

With a battery storage pipeline of approximately 1 gigawatt, the Ranft Group is consistently expanding its position as a comprehensive project partner for renewable energy and laying the groundwork for a sustainable, secure, and future-proof energy supply.

The establishment of the Ranft Group Austria in 2021 further strengthened the group’s international focus. Today, the group develops innovative energy projects in Germany, Austria, and Italy, thereby actively contributing to the European energy transition.

As a result, our fundamental convictions have been further reinforced economically by many positive outcomes: from increasingly attractive purchasing terms to favorable long-term financing. ...to the optimal utilization of EEG subsidy conditions and power purchase agreements—to name just a few examples.

Our Locations

The Ranft Group team has now become an international one. We value the cultural enrichment that our various locations bring.

Germany

BAD MERGENTHEIM has been the headquarters of the Ranft Group since 2008. We designed and built the building.

Since 2026, WÜRZBURGhas been another location for the Ranft Group, strengthening our presence in southern Germany.

Italy

Since 2011, MERAN has been home to the Ranft Group’s headquarters in Italy. Thanks to its bilingual environment, the location serves as the ideal gateway to the Italian market. LENTINI, located near Catania, has been the Ranft Group’s central hub for our operations in Sicily since 2010.
