Dear Investors,
Our group of companies stands for innovation and sustainability. With our extensive product portfolio in the fields of photovoltaics, hydropower, grid-supporting infrastructure such as energy storage systems and substations, as well as electricity marketing, we are ideally equipped to meet the demands of the future-oriented energy sector. This diversification of our business models enables us to flexibly and efficiently address and implement the ever-changing challenges of the energy transition. As a family-run company, we remain committed to our guiding principle: “Focus on Lasting Values.” Particularly in project development, we at the Ranft Group go through intensive project phases; upon their completion, we successfully implement our activities and achieve the results that we are pleased to present to you today. These project development phases include planning and obtaining building permits for our renewable energy projects.

We are currently implementing our extensive project pipeline—particularly in the photovoltaic sector—with great success and are now reaping the “rewards.” In addition, in the area of grid-supporting infrastructure, we are currently in the interim phase between acquisition and actual implementation for several energy storage and substation projects. With a large number of promising projects in our pipeline, we are laying the groundwork here as well to achieve further sustainable and economically profitable results in the near future. Furthermore, we have expanded our value chain by adding another link. Thanks to the expertise in electricity marketing on European power trading exchanges gained through a partnership established last month, and the legal framework established through a joint venture with long-standing partners, we will be able to sustainably enhance the results mentioned above.

In this Ranft Report, we’d like to update you on our progress with our projects as well as share interesting topics related to renewable energy. Are you already an investor with us? If so, we hope you’ll continue to support us. If you’re not yet part of our investor community, we look forward to welcoming you in the future. Let’s work together consistently over the coming years to create meaningful and value-adding initiatives.

Sincerely, Michael Ranft, Andrea Ranft, and Rainer Zepke

RENEWABLE ENERGY IN GERMANY

Oranienbaum Expansion
The Oranienbaum existing facility is one of our first projects to be modernized and expanded as part of the EnSig amendment. The Oranienbaum solar park was expanded by approximately 5 MWp, bringing its total capacity to 13 MWp. In May 2024, the plant was connected to the substation and will supply green energy to approximately 4,000 households. In addition, the first energy storage system is planned for the project site.

Riedenheim PV Project
For our ground-mounted solar plant in Riedenheim, with a capacity of approximately 10 MWp, we received final approval from the municipality in July 2023 and a building permit from the Würzburg District Office in November 2023. Construction began as scheduled in May 2024. You can see the current construction progress in the attached image.

Pirna PV Project
In Pirna, we are planning a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant with a total capacity of approximately 16.25 MWp. Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2024, and the DC-side work is expected to be completed in December 2024.

Substations We are currently developing two sites for the construction of substations, which will be connected to an 110 kV line on one side and a 380 kV line on the other within the transmission grid operated by the grid operators. With our comprehensive expertise in photovoltaics, hydropower, grid-supporting infrastructure, and the marketing of the green electricity we produce or stabilize, we are ideally positioned to successfully meet the challenges of the energy transition. Each of our projects represents another step toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy future. With you as an investor, we have the opportunity to operate more independently and implement successful comprehensive solutions.

RENEWABLE ENERGY IN ITALY

Limone Hydroelectric Power Plant
In Limone, in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, the Ranft Group has begun construction of a new pressure-pipe power plant. The turbine has a rated capacity of 3,400 kW, with a projected annual output of approximately 6,000,000 kWh. The Francis turbine used in the plant enables precise power control. Construction is progressing, and completion is scheduled for the summer of 2024.

Large-Scale Energy Storage Project in Italy
The Ranft Group is developing a large-scale energy storage facility with a
connected capacity of approximately 100 MW on its own property in Priolo (Sicily). The project is located directly adjacent to the substation of the transmission system operator TERNA, where we will provide grid services. Priolo is a major industrial hub in southwestern Sicily, and grid connection approval for the project has already been granted. Two additional large-scale energy storage projects, each with a connected load of approximately 100 MW, are in the planning stages; we will keep you informed of their progress in upcoming Ranft Reports.

Why are large-scale storage systems needed?

  1. Balancing Supply and Demand: Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar are subject to natural fluctuations. Large-scale storage systems make it possible to store excess energy and draw on it when needed to ensure a balance between supply and demand.
  2. Grid Stability and Frequency Control: Large-scale storage systems serve as buffers that help maintain grid stability and regulate the frequency of the power grid.
  3. Peak Load Management: During periods of high demand, large-scale storage systems can supply additional energy, thereby reducing the need for fossil fuels.
  4. Integration of Renewable Energy: Large-scale storage systems improve the predictability and reliability of renewable energy sources and facilitate their integration into the power grid.
  5. Avoiding Grid Expansion: The use of large-scale storage systems can reduce the need for costly grid expansion by balancing out bottlenecks in the power grid.

RENEWABLE ENERGY IN AUSTRIA

Höll PV Project
Our first project in Austria is the Höll ground-mounted solar plant with a capacity of approximately 2.8 MWp. The Ranft Group Austria team secured the necessary project rights in 2023 and applied for a building permit in November 2023. In May 2024, we received the building permit for the project. We will keep you informed about further projects in Austria in upcoming Ranft Reports. Currently, 133 MWp are in the Ranft Group Austria’s project pipeline.

RANFT GROUP PROJECT PIPELINE

To continue developing pioneering and comprehensive projects, the Ranft Group is acquiring projects in the renewable energy sector that, in addition to our traditional models—photovoltaics and hydropower—also include energy storage and energy infrastructure. Our current project pipeline has an impressive total capacity of over 400 MWp.
