Ground-Mounted and Rooftop Systems

We finance, plan, and build photovoltaic systems on rooftops and open spaces in Germany and Europe. The minimum system size (rooftop area) is generally 500 kWp. Buyers include both investors and the property owners themselves, who may also partner with us as co-investors in some cases.

Are you planning to install a large-scale solar power system?

Would you like to use existing roof or open spaces, or make them available for a fee?

Would you like to invest with us?

Are you the owner or operator of one or more photovoltaic systems? So are we! From the perspective of both the owner and the investor, we focus on monitoring, maintenance, and service work for rooftop and ground-mounted systems with a minimum capacity of 20 kWp (rooftop) or 500 kWp (ground-mounted). Customers with a total capacity of approximately 27.5 MWp have already placed their trust in the Ranft Group, both domestically and internationally, and entrusted us with this demanding task. In addition to our extensive experience, we utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment. And upon request, we also handle the commercial management of the operations.

Monitoring solutions commonly available on the market typically monitor only inverters. From our many years of experience, we know that the standard values determined in this way are completely inadequate. Such a static view fails to take into account potential problems that can arise anywhere from the module array and cabling to various levels of soiling. Such yield-reducing factors often go undetected for months or even years when relying solely on inverter monitoring. The result: Yields can drop significantly, unnoticed and over an indefinite period of time. This has a drastic impact on the annual bottom line!

Satellite-Based Monitoring

With our professional monitoring system, we consistently monitor all performance-critical system components and parameters. In addition, we validate the collected data using our satellite-based performance reference measurement. This simulates the power a solar system is expected to generate at a specific point in time. In addition to the measured solar irradiance, any cloud cover over the relevant area is taken into account. An algorithm is then used to simulate how much power the system should generate based on its size, orientation, tilt, and other parameters. Only these regularly calculated power values provide reliable benchmarks. When combined with our multi-parameter monitoring, these values can be used to ensure objective and transparent monitoring throughout the year.

Ideal not only for solar installers

Our monitoring system enables solar installers and investors to monitor multiple systems at a glance. It is designed for a wide variety of solar installations, and power plants can be directly compared and contrasted with just a few mouse clicks. The comparison options generated in this way provide additional transparency and an invaluable advantage over traditional, one-dimensional solutions. In addition, it provides a meaningful benchmark against comparable PV systems in the surrounding region.

Is the output of your solar power system significantly below realistic expectations? Do you suspect technical problems with the components, errors in the design, or issues with the installation? Ask about our efficiency check—customized and risk-free. Benefit from the results. Because if the system is suitable, we’ll take care of the necessary measures and cover the costs—and we’ll share the additional output together!

We are very pleased that the plant is now feeding electricity into the public grid. We would like to thank Project Manager Stefan Hauf and our team for the successful implementation of this project. The optional expansion area, with a nominal capacity of approximately 5 MW, is to be implemented in two phases. The first construction phase was completed in December 2021. The plant was also connected to the grid in December 2021. The plant is part of a Power-to-X project.

Pocking II Solar Park

Solarpark Pocking II GmbH, a company of the Ranft Group, has constructed an open-field solar power plant in the Passau district, between Pocking and Bad Füssing, on a former Bundeswehr military training area covering an area of approximately 36 ha (including compensatory areas). The plant, with a total capacity of 12 MWp, was commissioned on December 9, 2009. The photovoltaic plant was constructed using 26,087 high-performance polycrystalline modules with a rated power of 230 W (WSP-230Wp) and 27,273 high-performance polycrystalline modules with a rated power of 220 W (WSP-220Wp).

Coburg Solar Park

The Ranft Group was commissioned by a project company to manage and finance the Coburg solar park. A ground-mounted photovoltaic system with a total capacity of 1,386 kWp was constructed there . The photovoltaic system was constructed using 6,300 Winaico WSP-220-P6 polycrystalline modules, each with a rated output of 220 Wp, manufactured by Winaico Solar GmbH, as well as inverters manufactured by Bonfiglioli Vectron. The system was connected to the grid on June 30, 2010. To finance the project, the Ranft Group provided interim financing totaling 4.0 million euros from its cash reserves during the construction phase. In addition, the Ranft Group supplied all of the modules and inverters. The entire Coburg Solar Park facility has been sold to various private investors.

HuRa Solar Park

Solarpark HuRa GbR, a company of the Ranft Group, has constructed another photovoltaic plant in the “Am Rottwerk” industrial park in Pocking. Covering an area of approximately 1.86 ha, the plant has a capacity of 653.4 kWp. The single-axis tracking system is equipped with 2,904 modules from Winaico Solar GmbH, each with a capacity of 225 Wp. Some of these modules are mounted on a carport as a rooftop system. Schneider Elektrik GmbH supplied a central inverter as part of a complete station. In addition, a small office building with a post-and-beam structure was erected to serve as the operations center for the Pocking facility. The construction of the substructure, including module installation, was completed in a record time of just 6 working days. The planned commissioning (December 31, 2010) took place before Christmas 2010. The photovoltaic system remains the property of the Ranft Group.

Walbeck Solar Park

The Ranft Group has acquired an existing photovoltaic plant in Saxony-Anhalt. It also acquired the underlying properties in the thriving Hettstedt–Walbeck Technology and Business Park with a total area of approximately 56,000 square meters. This strategic investment thus links the Ranft Group’s two core business areas: real estate and renewable energy. The Ranft Group will also be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the facility going forward. The plant was commissioned on December 31, 2011, and has been operated by the Ranft Group since April 1, 2014. The solar park will be operated in accordance with the EEG until at least December 31, 2031. The photovoltaic plant was constructed using high-performance monocrystalline modules with a rated output of 235 W.

Nordhausen Solar Park

In Thuringia, the Ranft Group has acquired an existing photovoltaic plant covering an area of approximately 75,000 square meters. The solar park is located in an industrial park between Nordhausen and Bielen and is divided into three sections by the street “Im Krug.” The Group also acquired the properties in the thriving Nordhausen industrial park. Once again, through this strategic investment, the Ranft Group is linking its two core business areas: real estate and renewable energy. The Ranft Group has been operating the plant since August 1, 2014. Since then, the group has been responsible for monitoring as well as technical and commercial management. The plant was completed on December 31, 2011. In accordance with the EEG, the solar park will remain in operation until at least December 31, 2031. The photovoltaic plant was constructed using monocrystalline high-performance modules with a rated output of 235 W.
