Over the years, numerous projects have been developed in the fields of photovoltaics and hydropower. A valuable network of business and project partners has been established in Germany and Italy. We benefit from this network in conjunction with entrepreneurial thinking. We successfully entered the photovoltaic market in 2008, expanding our traditional business area in the real estate sector to include solar energy, which is now a key component of our business. today. With the highly acclaimed realization of the 12 MW Pocking II solar park, the Ranft Group was considered established in the photovoltaic sector.

One challenge is to bridge the so-called "dark doldrums", i.e. sunny and windless days. To achieve this, the electricity grid in particular needs to be upgraded with so-called "smart grid" solutions. Intelligent power grids (smart grids) combine generation, storage and consumption. A central control system optimally coordinates them and thus balances out power fluctuations in the grid, particularly those caused by fluctuating renewable energies.

The Ranft Group made a successful entry into hydropower with the modernization of the existing Boves power plant in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont. Over the years, various hydropower plants were added in Val Fegana, Pallanzeno, Cortina, Saluzzo, Focetto and Druogno. Here, it is primarily the drinking water power plants that stand for sustainable and stable value retention.
